Flying Sky Lanterns are traditional Thai Hot Air Floating Sky Lanterns made from thin tissue paper and bamboo. The hot air is provided by a burning paper/ cotton wick.
They ascend gracefully, and are an amazing sight, especially when released at regular intervals to form a chain of lights rising into the sky. They are equally good by day or by night.
It is said that by whispering a wish into a Chinese Lantern before its release, ones bad fate,misfortunes and ill feeling are given to the heavens thereby allowing for a renewed life.
